LIBN: Uncle Giuseppe’s signs lease for Bohemia space
by David Winzelberg
Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace has signed a long-term lease at the Sayville Plaza shopping center in Bohemia.
Uncle Giuseppe’s will be occupying about 39,000 square feet at the center located at 5181 Sunrise Highway and is expected to open in November, according to a broker on the deal. The space was formerly occupied by Babies R Us.
This will be the supermarket chain’s eighth Long Island location, following others in Smithtown, Port Jefferson Station, Melville, East Meadow, Port Washington, Babylon and Massapequa. Uncle Giuseppe’s also operates stores in Yorktown Heights, Ramsey, N.J., Tinton Falls, N.J. and Morris Plains, N.J.
Uncle Giuseppe’s stores are Italian grocery markets that offer steaks, poultry, roasts, and Italian sausage made daily, a deli counter with a wide variety of Italian-inspired prepared foods, a produce department with domestic, imported, local and organic fruits and vegetables and a seafood department with live lobsters and freshly caught seafood. The stores also feature Italian baked goods, cheeses, candy and pasta.
The new Uncle Giuseppe’s store at Sayville Plaza will join a tenant roster that includes Old Navy, Harbor Freight, Panera Bread, Chipotle Mexican Grill, The Vitamin Shoppe, Boot Barn, F45 Fitness, T-Mobile, Floor & Décor, At Home, and Aldi. A Bob’s Discount Furniture is also coming to the Bohemia center.
Joanne Argenti of RIPCO Real Estate represented Uncle Giuseppe’s, while Robert Delavale served as in-house representative for the landlord, Breslin Organization, in the Bohemia lease transaction.
