LIBN: Michaels replacing TJ Maxx at Hicksville center

by David Winzelberg

Michaels, the crafts and home décor retailer, will be opening a new store in Hicksville.

The chain leased about 20,000 square feet in the Woodbury Shopping Center at 410 S. Oyster Bay Road, part of the space formerly occupied by TJ Maxx, which relocated across the street to Woodbury Plaza.

The rest of the former TJ Maxx space, about 10,500 square feet, was leased by specialty discount retailer Five Below, which is expected to open at the beginning of December. The new Michaels store is expected to open in the spring.

Jeremy Isaacs of RIPCO Real Estate represented Michaels and his RIPCO colleagues Tom Rettaliata and Jeff Howard represented Five Below, while Robert Delavale of the Breslin Organization represented the landlord, Josam Associates, in both Hicksville lease transactions.
