Daily Voice: Holy Guacamole: Chipotle Opens New Restaurant In Suffolk County
by Michael Mashburn
Chipotle Mexican Grill has officially opened its doors in Islandia, bringing its beloved burritos, bowls, and tacos to 1900 Veterans Memorial Highway.
The popular restaurant chain, which celebrated its grand opening on Monday, Feb. 24, is part of a newly developed retail strip next to Walgreens. It joins Panera Bread, which opened in December, making this a prime destination for fast-casual food lovers on Long Island.
A Fresh Spot for Fast, Flavorful Eats
Chipotle is known for its made-to-order Mexican-inspired meals, where diners can customize everything—from protein choices like chicken, steak, carnitas, and barbacoa to free toppings including four types of salsa, fajita veggies, sour cream, cheese, and guac (for an extra charge, of course).
The Islandia location marks another expansion for the chain, which operates more than 3,700 restaurants worldwide, including over 200 in New York State.
