BRESLIN REALTY’S 26 YEAR HISTORY WITH WALMART

GARDEN CITY, NY (February 1, 2022) – The recent opening of a Walmart Supercenter in Yaphank, NY has Wilbur F. Breslin, CEO & Chairman of Breslin Realty Development Corp. reminiscing about his long relationship with Walmart throughout the years.

In over a quarter of a century, Breslin Realty has been involved in 12 Walmart deals throughout Long Island, starting with the very first in Middle Island in 1995.

The first Walmart Supercenter on Long Island was also developed by Breslin Realty Development Corp. It opened on Route 110 in Farmingdale in 2007 and took approximately 12 years from conception to completion.

Walmart first approached the Breslin organization about adding Yaphank to their portfolio in the mid-1990s. Despite many delays, both parties consistently revisited the project, leading to the recent opening of a 197,000 square foot Supercenter on November 3, 2021 – 26 years after the store’s initial conception.
