LIBN: Wonder continues Long Island expansion with new Plainview location
by David Winzelberg
Wonder, the growing food delivery and takeout concept, will be opening a location in Plainview.
The chain leased a 3,500-square-foot space in the Woodbury Plaza shopping center at 445 S. Oyster Bay Road.
The Plainview Wonder will be the company’s fourth Long Island location, following its first opening in Melville in May, one soon to open in Deer Park and a Bellmore store slated to open this fall, about when the Plainview location is expected to open.
Wonder started out in 2018 as a fleet of trucks delivering made-to-order meals has now become a growing chain of brick-and-mortar locations where customers can dine-in, pick-up food or have it delivered.
The Wonder concept, combining cuisine made largely by well-known chefs and eateries offered in a fast and convenient format, has a menu that features fare from famous chefs like Bobby Flay, Michael Symon and Jonathan Waxman and popular restaurant brands like Di Fara Pizza, Bankside by JJ Johnson, Alanza, Limesalt and others.
Since it started opening locations in 2023, Wonder now has 46 stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Rhode Island, with dozens more in the pipeline.
The Plainview Wonder will join a Woodbury Plaza tenant roster that includes Trader Joe’s, TJ Maxx, GAP, GAP Kids, CVS, The French Workshop, Trek Bicycles, Greek Xpress, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Men’s Wearhouse, Walk-In Dermatology and Wild Fork Foods.
JP Pirraglia and Dillon Ross of RIPCO Real Estate represented Wonder, while Robert Delavale served as the in-house representative for the landlord, Breslin Organization, in the Plainview lease transaction.
