LIBN: Coffee Lobby café coming to The Langdon in Lynbrook

The Langdon, the newly minted apartment development in Lynbrook, has secured a tenant for its sole ground-floor commercial space.

The Coffee Lobby, operated by Long Island restaurateur Peter Kambitsis, will soon occupy the 1,800-square-foot café space in the building at 1 Langdon Place. The café is expected to open early next year.

The new Lynbrook concept is the latest eatery from Kambitsis, who also owns Sugarberry Bakery and Pappa Gallo in Rockville Centre, New York Bakery Café in Astoria, and Mojo restaurants in both Rockville Centre and Forest Hills.

The Coffee Lobby will serve coffee, pastries and “light fare” with indoor seating and an outdoor patio in the warmer months, according to a statement from Breslin Realty, which developed The Langdon.

“The addition of The Coffee Lobby at The Langdon further enhances the property’s vision as a vibrant hub for both residents and visitors in Lynbrook’s growing downtown district, and we are proud to welcome them,” Justin Breslin, vice president of Breslin Realty Development Corp., said in the statement.

Opened earlier this year, The Langdon is a six-story, 278,014-square-foot building at the corner of Broadway and Langdon Place built on the site of the former Mangrove Feather factory just steps from the Lynbrook Long Island Rail Road station. The $95 million development, a collaboration between Garden City-based Breslin Realty Development Corporation and Fields Grade Development from Hoboken, N.J., has 201 apartments. The apartments feature floor-to-ceiling windows, in-unit washer/dryers, walk-in closets, and kitchens with stainless steel appliances.

Amenities at The Langdon feature a rooftop terrace, landscaped courtyard, resident lounge, fitness center, covered parking and more.

Monthly rents for available apartments at the transit-oriented building range from $2,871 for a studio to $4,202 for a two-bedroom unit, according to the property’s website.

Anthony Russo of Breslin Realty represented the tenant, while Justin Breslin served as in-house representative for the landlord in the Lynbrook lease transaction.
